WebOrganized in 1974 by S. W. Prestidge, Jr., the Singing Men of Texas was founded as a ministry of the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT) Church Music Department. It is an organization of six regional choirs composed primarily of ministers of music, part-time music directors and Baptist men associated with church music in their churches. In addition to a 2010 choir tour and the Breakthrough Band's recent trip, another two choir trips are planned for 2012.
