WebJan 5, 2016 · Flat face QD's have an internal O-ring that is used to seal the QD poppets. If the O-ring gets damaged the QD will leak. I have had this happen a couple of times while connecting or disconnecting when the coupler is under some pressure. You would have to check to see if there is a repair kit or instructions on how to access these seals though.
